Next up in our series of deep conversations is Mr Phormula, an award winning rapper, producer, beatboxer and teacher who’s been at the forefront of Welsh rap culture for over 20 years in a number of different bands, projects and aliases.
Armed with a sharp tongued signature that flips between his dual languages, he’s taken Welsh language rap to incredible levels including collaborating with KRS-One and his more recent work with the likes of Guilty Simpson, Akil The MC and Lord Willing.
In light of his new album A.W.D.L (Artist With Dual Language), Mr Phormula sits down with Dave Columbo Jenkins to explore the Welsh identity in the 21st century and share the highs and lows of his inspiring journey so far.
This is part of a special series of podcasts in August to celebrate the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. Stay tuned for more rap tales very soon!
