Halogenix to release debut album – Passions

It lands April 26 on Gemini Gemini

Halogenix will release his debut album on April 26.

Entitled Passions, the album weighs in at 13 tracks, features collaborations with dBridge, Steve Spacek and Liam Bailey and maps out Halogenix‘s widest creative parameters in terms of genre, tempo and range.

Launched today with the release of new single I Told Ya, Passions is a deeply emotional and meaningful affair for the London artist.

“The phrases ‘Passions of the Mind, or Accidents of the Soul’ from the early 1800s beautifully encapsulated what we today define as ‘Emotion’,” Halogenix explains. “Before we had the modern lexicon to describe these intense feelings, they were experienced but not explicitly named, celebrated and feared in equal measure.”

“In my music, I’ve found a powerful conduit for expressing these deep-seated emotions – the ones I struggle to communicate through other means. Rage, sadness, uncertainty, joy, elation – all these find their voice in my compositions. The music I create, which resonates deeply with me, often brings these emotions and daydreams to life. They serve as soundtracks to those overwhelming moments in my life, guiding me towards a better understanding of myself. This album, Passions, is a reflection of this journey, an exploration of the profound depths of human emotion.”

If you’ve listened to our podcast with Halogenix from around this time last year, you’ll understand how important that exploration is for Laurence Reading. An artist driven by realness and integrity, the curation and creation of a debut album was always going to be a significant milestone. Incorporating his own two year old son’s paintings as the artwork for the album galvanises this approach even more.

“The artwork not only represents the unfiltered emotions we often lose as adults but also symbolises the beauty and complexity of the feelings explored in this album,” he states. “Passions is therefore not just a musical journey but a familial collaboration, exploring the profound depths of human emotion through both sound and visual art.”

For more profound depths, new single I Told Ya is out today and the full album drops April 26.
