With just days left to go before we set sail on our innaugural boat party, here’s everything you need to know!
Boarding the Hurlingham Boat at Westminster Pier, London, 3.45pm, Saturday October 21, we have an all-star cast of singers and MCs ready to take us through London on a voyage that celebrates songcraft, musicality and vocals across the bass music spectrum.
Love will be in the air as headlines flowanastasia and Tyr Kohout make their UK debut and launch their EU tour… Which is also their honeymoon!
A world first in the history of drum & bass, and quite possibly the history of dance music: singer-songwriter flowanastasia and producer/DJ partner Tyr Kohout are so dedicated to their craft and the culture, they’re celebrating their holy-moly matrimony with their own self-funded tour of Europe.
Fresh from collaborating with the likes of Mefjus, Nymfo and Stranjah, the happy couple will be taking in the romantic sights, scenes and sounds of Paris, Vienna, Berlin, Bristol and London where the tour launches with 1 More Thing on Saturday October 21.
Fellow guests on this intimate trip comprise a hypersonic smorgasbord of exclusives, specials and one-off performances that span from hip-hop to reggae to grime on a full-spectrum adventure across the bass music universe with a special focus on vocalist and MC culture that is currently dominating bass culture
Joining flowanastasia and Tyr Kohout on this voyage of vocalists and MCs will be… The iconic soundsystem duo the Ragga Twins, Sydney Bryce & Tones, Agman Gora & Hanka and last week’s amazing competition winner Halley who will be providing the warm-up and wind-down sounds.
Part concert, part rave, all celebration: Each act will be showcasing unique performances and guaranteeing new music that has never been performed live before. Trust us, the 1 More Thing Boat Party will be like no other event you’ve attended.
Here’s why…
The iconic system siblings the Ragga Twins will be laying down a performance that spans their whole career from their position at the very forefront of hardcore and jungle culture right back at the start of the 90s to brand new material from their forthcoming new album (which will be their first album of original material in 28 years!)
Sydney Bryce will be rolling out a special set with her selector brother Tones. Best known for hosting weekly sessions together on the now legitimized and legal pirate station Select FM, on the boat they’ll be taking the ravers across the board from hip-hop to drum & bass via all the best sounds in between. Sydney is one of the most in demand singers in drum & bass right now with credits on Critical Music, Spearhead, Flexout, Pilot and many other imprints. You’ve definitely heard her voice before… Now make sure you experience her live!
Subversive MC provocateur Agman Gora will be also rolling out with DJ Hanka, showcasing brand new music from his debut album that will drop on 1 More Thing in 2024. Charging at you full-force like the love child of Mike Skinner and Keith Flint on a pair of Happy Shopper rollerblades, the politically-charged underdog Agman flexes from grime to jungle and promises a bombardment of exclusives that we know you have never heard before.
All acts on the line-up have been hand-picked for their vocal prominence, dominance and absolute authenticity. This rollcall is completely unique, each act has something truly special to showcase and share with you as we cross seismic musical boundaries while cruising through the veins of London. A one-off moment in time, this will never ever happen again.
PLUS, in case that wasn’t quite enough, leading underground community station and culture platform Rough Tempo will be taking over the lower deck with an all-out explosion of all forms of drum & bass and jungle. They’ll be representing with Anna Key, Zane Enhanced, Madman & Faze, Smithiee and Bamz.
All this in just four hours while sailing along the Thames to one of the most iconic cityscapes in the world on an otherwise peaceful autumn Saturday afternoon!
