Dirtbox Recordings have been responsible for some stellar releases in recent times, all by thinking outside of the box. Their liquid Vibe City VA releases are testament to this, and their latest project sees the label return to heavier material.
Tape Pack Series officially launched on 1st January and features two artists known for their heavy hitting productions, The Fi5th and Shayper. Both artists have had twelve tracks each signed by Dirtbox and these will be released on the first day of every month throughout the year.
Iteration by Shayper and Procedure by The Fi5th are the first releases in the series, both landing on New Years Day. Both projects will have twelve volumes appearing as singles released every month to create an album at the years end for both artists.
The release schedule will provide “consistency in music released for both artists” explained Dirtbox head honcho Lee UHF. “The constant flow of music will also help build the artists following on their Spotify pages.”
Additionally, both artists will receive seventy per cent of all royalties on the Tape Pack releases, a split which is almost unheard of.
“Being involved in this project is a great opportunity for me to release a few projects I’ve been meaning to finish up but had no real reason to complete them.” The Fi5th stated. “So having the 12-piece monthly dates for them has put me into gear and accepted the challenge.”
Artwork for the project is exactly what it says on the tin and have been produced by Ruben Beskar and will involve minimal changes as the releases happen throughout the year.
“Lee hit me up with this idea, and straight away the motivation and drive fired up.” We learned from Shayper. “I’ve known Lee for quite a while now, his primary ethos has always been the artist and scene first.”
A motivational project for both artists, Tape Pack Series has provided both Shayper and The Fi5th a consistent platform for releases throughout 2024 and gives stability like no other releases project.
Procedure V1 and Iteration V1 are both available to buy or stream now and sees Dirtbox’s year off to a thumper of a start.
