Raving season is in full swing right now with new events popping left, right, centre on the calendar as the summer progresses. A brand new one that guarantees a very different, diverse and vital twist to the merry making menu is Origination Festival. A celebration of Black electronic artists from across the bass and soundsystem spectrum.
Taking place at iconic South London venue The Fox & Firkin, from midday to 3am on July 9, Origination is stacked with a full-flavour line-up…
AMIT, Blu, Chris Inperspective, Dark Pheonix, Dawn Walton OBE, Dwarde, Grace Magikal, Honza Noel, Illmatika (Live), Major Ranks, Mizeyesis, Mr Joseph, R Vee, Spikey T, Squiff and Stut will all be performing.
PLUS a special guest who can’t be named for the standard boring agent / exclusivity reasons (we have it on good authority that he is a Good Looking chap and definitely worthy of the title special)
The July 9 event musically flexes in all directions from roots to soul to all-out jungle and will hopefully be the first of a series of Origination events around the world. As the event description states, the brand has been launched through a passion for black electronic music that has shaped countless lives and formed strong alliances over decades in cities the world over.
“We have entered the fray to bring together artists from local grass roots to the internationally acclaimed as our journey begins.”
“Origination was a concept that was born from a desire to see more interesting and diverse line-ups,” states founder and promoter Chris Inperspective. “Diverse in genre, not race that is. We will be continuing with series around the UK, Europe and, we hope, Australia and USA. We want to bring together as many wonderful styles together and have as many people enjoying it.”
