Singer, songwriter, DJ, broadcaster and all-round inspiration Charli Brix is launching LINKS today. A brand new workshop concept dedicated to female, female identifying and non-binary artists.
Running two sessions per month, LINKS will focus on developing aspiring artists in two aspects of the industry: DJ workshops and singing and songwriting. Both come with a strong emphasis on empowering, informing, blasting away industry myths and revealing classic industry traps.
“My musical beginnings were paved with roadblocks that could have easily been avoided – had I known the right questions to ask, and who to ask them to,” Charli explains. “There’s no ‘one rule fits all’ method to music, but there are some universal tips and tricks that could help along the way.”
These tips and tricks will be revealed in an online ticketed class live from Charli. Each session lasts around an hour and the first workshop – one aimed at aspiring DJs – launches today January 18. Tickets are £15 and can be purchased here. The second workshop this month takes place on January 23 and will focus on singing and songwriting.
“Whether you want to develop your songwriting, get to grips to getting paid, learn how to use Rekordbox to prep a DJ set or link up with like-minded heads,” lists Charli who runs a fine line in DJ sets as one of the earliest vocalists in drum & bass to perform a DJ set with live singing. “LINKS is a low-key aimed at DIY artists looking to take the next step in their career.”
