In recent times we’ve seen some of the best producers and DJ’s in the scene launching labels. Amplify with Gradient and Taxman with TXM, the end of January sees the launch of a brand new label.
This time around, none other than Exile steps up to the plate and hits us with the launch of his label, Banished Beats. Together with label partner Elaine, Banished Beats’ first release comes courtesy of the main man himself.
Destructive Vibrations hits the airwaves and officially sees Banished Beats bloom on 29 January. “I’m buzzing to be able to make music for myself and fans, focusing on my ambitions for the Exile brand at the same time.” Exile beamed about the launch.
Having worked together with Exile for a long time, Elaine explained “we’d talked about the possibility of a label from the outset, but we really wanted to feel like it was the right time and that we were ready.”
Initially releasing Exile pieces, Banished Beats will eventually branch out as Exile said, “we’re aiming to make it a diverse platform covering the full spectrum which not only matches our tastes but also focuses on what is current with the main goal being high quality production.”
Being a production tutor, Exile will eventually take on submissions and work with the artists to ensure tracks are in a strong place to release. Elaine, who has a managerial background, will handle the day to day running of the label.
He’s served us delicious drops, his name has been on many a line-up, and this year is truly off to a flying start as he finds himself nominated for Best Breakthrough Producer in the upcoming Drum & Bass Awards. Banished Beats will be another string to Exile’s ever-growing bow.
