Doberman-loving Welsh electronic duo Overmono have just revealed that their debut album Good Lies will be released on May 12.
File under ‘highly anticipated’, the 12-track body of work will come our way via XL Recordings and will feature art and visuals from long-time collaborator and well respected director Rollo Jackson. The announcement comes with beautiful brand new single Is U.
“Across the last two years, we have spent so much time on the road, making music whenever we could,” brothers Ed and Tom explain. “Moving around all the time was always really inspiring and got us experimenting a lot and having fun with how we created chords or chopped and pitched vocals. This album is really a letter of love to the journey so far and marks where we want to take things.”
Eager ears will already be well acquainted with this direction. One of the most consistent and forward-thinking acts to emerge on the breakbeat/two-step side of house and techno in recent years, their distinctive signature has been established since their breakthrough cuts Daisy Chain and The Mabe and, more recently, the universal smasher So U Kno.
Their sound has developed and flourished ever since, taking exciting underground twists and breath-taking emotional turns ranging from recent dispatches such as Walk Thru Water (featuring St Panther) and their pounding Blind Date with kindred fusionist spirit Joy Orbison.
Good Lies is set to galvanise their sound and style even further.
To mark the album announcement, the duo have also rolled out a whole host of international tour dates (including their Coachella debut and their first tour of Australia) plus a new merch drop, all of which can be found on the Overmono website.
